I am going up for my third degree on August the 23rd at the La Plata Lodge in Missouri. I have given FULL proficiency back in Entered Apprentice and Fellow Craft I would'nt think of doing it any other way. I was not disappointed, it's a great read. I am one of those guys who has just started knocking on the door; I was voted on and unanimously accepted but not yet initiated because the Lodge I petitioned has gone dark for the summer. I have spent the past couple of months after petitioning reading as much about Masonry as I can, using only dependable sources as to not spoil any of the ritual secrets/surprises. I am certainly hungry for knowledge, and after reading your article, am even more excited to become a part of something that is not only striving to help others but to better itself by focusing on its more esoteric aspects. I too just recently started a blog, although mine has a different purpose. I wanted to keep a record of my transformation as I go from profane to Sublime for both sentimental reasons and to provide a resource for others interested in Masonry. A new candidate education program, community outreach, and throw-back courses for all Brethren to reiderate not only who and why we ARE, but who and WHY we WERE and should be again.
