#aedifico42Shrine Question (Revisited)

Posted at: 5:19 pm

You can see below that our completely scientific and flawless polling resulted in a 50-50 split about the split.

I would venture to say that, whether or not the Shrine stays or goes…their days are numbered.  Not that I would wish this on them…they do great work that MUST continue.  But if they don’t fix their problem…it may be too late.

The shame of it is that the children’s hospitals would be the biggest losers.  I hope my prediction is wrong.

  2. I wouldn’t get too concerned about the hospitals, a glance at the financials will assure you that they are funded into perpetuity and beyond.

The sad part is that a lot of really good and better Brethren love working in and around Shrinedom. Also, while the hospitals may be more than solvent they depend on local Shrine Temples to hold the screening clinics and transport the children to the regional hospitals. The Shrine Transportation Units always needs more funding to pay the cost of providing free transportation to the patients and parents. If you ever feel a need to give, consider them my Brothers. Without the steady flow of patients, transported at the cost of the local Temples through donations, the Shrine Hospital is just a beautiful empty building. Of course, Masonry is afloat with beautiful, mostly empty, buildings…
