#aedifico42A Miracle Just Happened…

Posted at: 12:23 pm

…and both she and my wife are doing just fine. At 7.5 lb. and 19 in. long, the latest little princess to grace our home arrived a week early and right on time last night.

Fathers out there will know how it feels to hold the little ‘part of me’ for the first time. It is a miracle, and I don’t care to celebrate this one alone.

Please indulge me (and yourselves) by posting your favorite ‘Daddy’ experience below. And I thank you ahead of time for all your well wishes.

  1. Congratulations! Though I am not a father (we’ve been happily married for 18 years(!) and I consider myself to be an opinionated, “armchair father”) my request to you is that you use your Masonic learning and religious affiliation to promote a Godly lifestyle in your children. I have seen too many families who have left God out of the child-rearing equation, and the end results are obvious. It’s no guarantee that your child will grow up on the straight and narrow, but it certainly can’t hurt!

  2. CONGRATULATIONS My Brother!!! Now your older daughter will have a baby sister to show the ropes to! I remember when my son was born…I was the first person that he saw. So when we finally got home, whenever he was cranky, I was the only one that could get him to calm down and go to sleep. DaDa was his first words and me and him have been best friends and did everything together…that is until he has discovered girls!! Man do I miss those old days sometimes! Cherish the time that you have with her now because before you know it daddy’s little girl will be grown and on her own. And you’ll be missing those good old days…

  3. Congratulations! Believe me when I tell you that time will proceed to move quickly from now on. Treasure every moment you have with her. And, if you are anything like me, she will be the pricess of the family.

My little princess is 3.5 years old. We went on a real vacation this year (just a few weeks ago) and she thought we moved there. We had to explain several times that we were only there for a few days and then we would go back home. Of course, by the end of the vacation she didn’t want to go home. But she was very happy when she was back in her own bed.

  4. Congratulations my Brother. I had at one time a rug rat who was 7-11. I was 9 pounds 10 ounces. So I kind of said he had nothing on me. Guess how small something can be to humble you… I sat up reading everything about how to take care of something so small. In our pictures, I looked like a mental patient because I was so tired. However, I do not need to look in the mirror any more to see myself. That’s the secret…

  5. Congratulations to you and your wife. I have a four year old daughter and a almost two month old boy. Being a dad has been the most amazing journey I have undertaken. My four year is already able to read…which makes for some interesting comments at inopportune times….and the way a infant will follow your voice and look in the direction of your sound when you get home from work is something I look forward too everyday. That and the four year old attacking me to play with her.
